About Construction Works Zone:
A Construction Works Zone is that portion of a public road in which a motor vehicle may stand only if the vehicle is engaged in construction work in or near the zone.
Construction Works Zone is provided to facilitate the efficient operation of construction projects and to minimise traffic disruption. They are not for parking of workers' vehicles.
Work Zones require 6-8 weeks to process and must initially be for a minimum duration of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months. A Work Zone can be renewed prior to expiry but must be done in whole month periods to a maximum of 6 months at a time.
Should a workzone be required earlier than above, an urgency fee will be applicable as per Council's Fees & Charges. Note, processing will be restricted by schedule of Traffic Committee regardless of the Urgency Fee (other components of processingwill be completed quicker).
The minimum turnaround time for urgent applications is 4 weeks.
The fees and charges for this application are as per Council's Fees & Charges.
Please note there is both an application and an occupation fee that applies.
The application fee is required upon lodgement of the application. Council will advise the applicant of the remaining fee upon processing the application.
Residential Parking Area: As per Council's Fees & Charges (per month or part thereof)
Commercial Centres: As per Council's Fees & Charges (per month or part thereof)
Metered Parking Area: Commercial or Residential rate (as above) plus 80% of metered parking rate. This fee is calculated as a percentage of the maximum daily potential parking revenue from parking meters within the ConstructionWorks Zone for the period the Construction Works Zone is applied in days.
