PRELIMINARY VEHICULAR CROSSING &/OR ANCILLARY WORKS APPLICATION

S.138, Roads act 1993

Council uses a two-step process for vehicular crossing and ancillary works. You must complete both steps before any construction can begin.

Step 1: Apply for consent for the design and location of the proposed vehicular crossing and/or ancillary works (this application). 

Step 2:  Apply for Private Contractor Consent. Once you’ve received consent, submit the Vehicular Crossing Construction by Private Contractor application to proceed with constuction works.

Allow up to 14 business days for processing, starting from the date payment is received.

Approval Process 

  • Applications are not automatically approved. 

  • This application is used to determine if your proposed location is suitable. 

  • Once approved written consent will be issued. 

  • If your application is refused, we’ll notify you by email.

A hard stand is a paved area within your property boundary to park and manoeuvre vehicles.

Please continue to fill in this form.

You will need to lodge and receive approval through a Development Application (DA) prior to the lodgement of this application for the hard stand.

Details

It is the Applicant’s responsibility to determine the correct development type and number of entries permitted prior to lodgement. All fees related to this application are GST inclusive and non-refundable.

Required Documentation

Browse
A survey plan prepared by a registered surveyor showing all utility services, trees and levels within the footpath area (eg pits (telecom, stormwater), poles etc), kerb, gutter and centreline or the crest of the road.

Plans show the driveway/garage/parking space location within the subject property. All dimensions and proposed levels of the vehicular crossing and parking space shall be annotated on the plans, including finished floor levels and natural ground levels of the site.

Longitudinal section(s) (i.e edges and middle line of the vehicular crossing) to illustrate the vehicular crossing design starting from the centre line or the crest of the road, whichever level is greater, to the proposed parking space.

A design certificate of compliance issued by a suitably qualified engineer for the submitted vehicular crossing plan shall be provided and confirming all works proposed are in accordance with Council’s DCP, Appendix 2 – Engineering Specification, Vehicular Crossing Specification and the relevant conditions of Development Application consent and be able to prevent stormwater ingress into the building during 1% Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP) storm event.
